Tom Menino and Michael Flaherty are the top finishers in the preliminary election for mayor.

The incumbent Menino, with 41,026 votes, and at-large Boston City Councilor Flaherty, with 19,459, finish ahead of at-large councilor Sam H. Yoon, 17,179, and developer Kevin McCrae, 3,340.
